the big questions
What is the Gospel?
Our sin separates us from God, but Jesus came to bring us back to God. His life, death and resurrection is the good news that fixes our bad news. Those who will respond to this good news by repenting of their sins and putting their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be saved.

How do I become a Christian?
Let’s start at the very beginning. Genesis 1:31 states that God created everything, and that it was good. Revelation 4:11 adds that he made everything for his glory. The first man and woman were created by God for his glory and were to exercise dominion over the world under Him.
Unfortunately, not long after their creation, they sinned. Genesis chapter three records the sin of Adam and Eve, and Romans chapters three and five describe how that same sin nature is passed on to us. The Bible makes it clear that the penalty for rebellion against the creator is eternal separation from Him in Hell (Rom 3:23). This is the bad news.
The good news enters in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus - the second person of the trinity - fully God and fully man, came to earth to live a perfect life, die a sacrificial death, and be raised to life again in order to accomplish redemption (John 3:16, 2 Cor 5:21).
Those who will respond to this good news by repenting of their sins and putting their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be born again (Rom 10:13). There is nothing they must do in order to be saved (Eph 2:8-9).
So, the gospel is the good news about Jesus that meets us in our bad news and promises hope, peace, and relationship with God to those who will turn from their sin and put faith in Christ.

What does it mean to be baptized?
Baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When a Christian is immersed in the water, this person is identifying with Jesus in those events and making a public declaration of faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. Jesus commanded His followers to be baptized; if you are new to faith in Christ or have never been baptized, we would love to come alongside you as you take this important step in your spiritual journey!

What should I expect to happen when I arrive?
When you first arrive at Paramount, you should be greeted by a friendly face at the door. From there, we would love to direct you to one of our Guest Central locations where we can help you get connected with a small group. We can also help you find the right place for your kids or students. In our worship services, we spend time singing, praying, and looking at Scripture. We preach expositionally (meaning that we go through entire books of the Bible in small chunks to understand what all of the Bible teaches).
When do I need to get there?
Our Sunday Morning worship service meets in the Building A Worship Center at 10:15am. Our small groups begin meeting at 9:00. It’s usually a good idea to arrive about 15-20 minutes early to find parking, drop off your kids, and find a seat.
What should I wear?
You are invited to come as you are, and what you are most comfortable in. Most members of our church family dress fairly casual, but it’s not uncommon to see people in suits either.
